Who is this course for?

For candidates whose main goal is the exam

Exam Preparation is for learners who already have — or are very close to — the English level their exam requires, and now want to turn that English into the best possible result.
It may be a good choice if you:

How we prepare you

Know the exam. Practise the strategy. Analyse. Improve. Repeat.

Know the Exam

Understand how the test works and exactly what each task is asking you to do.

Build Your Strategy

Choose an effective approach for every part of the exam, and know why it works.

Manage Your Time

Learn to pace yourself so you finish every section with your best answers.

Practise for Real

Timed practice under realistic conditions, so exam day feels familiar.

Use Feedback

See where you’re losing marks, adjust your approach and try again.

Fix the Gaps That Count

If an obvious language gap is costing you marks, your teacher addresses it.

General course information

Levels & placement

Entry level depends on your exam and target score. Before you join a group, we check that your current English is suitable for the exam pathway. Not there yet? Start with General English.

Strategy-led lessons covering task format, timing and exam technique, with targeted practice for your exam. The weekly timetable is confirmed with each start date.

Four-week group programmes on fixed start dates, so the class follows the same strategy sequence together. Need a different date? One-to-One is more flexible.

Regular timed practice and teacher feedback show you where you’re gaining and losing marks. You receive a Certificate of Attendance; official exam certificates are issued by the exam board, not by Language Connect.

Not at the required level yet?

First build the English. Then learn the exam.

Exam technique can improve your performance, but it can’t replace the level the exam requires. That’s why we check your English before you join a group.

Step 1: join the General English class that fits your level

Step 2: progress through levels with tests every 4 weeks

Step 3: move into Exam Preparation when your English is ready

Need more flexibility?

One-to-One exam preparation

If you need a different start date, a timetable that fits your plans or preparation focused entirely on your own performance, One-to-One is the flexible route. It can be booked on its own or alongside another Language Connect programme.

Which exams do you prepare for?
IELTS, Cambridge English Qualifications, TOEFL and ESaT.
Yes. Exam preparation focuses on strategy, not on teaching the language level from the beginning. We check your English before you join, and if you’re not ready yet, we recommend the right General English class first.
Group programmes last four weeks and run on fixed start dates, so the class follows the same strategy sequence together.
One-to-One exam preparation offers a flexible timetable and start date, and can be booked on its own or alongside another programme.
Exam registration, dates and results are managed by each exam board. Contact us and we’ll tell you what’s possible for your exam.
